About CSA Canada

The Cloud Security Alliance, Canada chapter is a not-for-profit corporation who’s mission is to advance the awareness and provide industry proven practice guidance on cloud computing and cloud security related issues.

The CSA Canada currently has 284 members and is lead by an elected board with 9 members. Although we are early in the history of the chapter the board has big plans for growing our presence in the Canadian market.

Matthew Hoerig


Matthew is an experienced IT executive with 20 years in the industry. He has worked with some of the largest systems integrators on the planet leveraging the benefit of working in many different and dynamic IT environments. As President & CEO of Trustsec Inc. and as President of CSA Canada Matt has had the opportunity to develop thought leadership on key cloud, network, infrastructure and security issues of the day. As a result when Trustsec engages with clients they are able to tailor guidance, advisory and delivery services accordingly. Consequently, Matt has been able to guide Trustsec into a solid services and delivery integrator for its partners and customers. Concurrently, Matt is also involved with research activities and sits on the SDN (Software Defined Perimeter) and Blockchain working groups for the Cloud Security Alliance, participates in the IEEE/NIST P2302 Intercloud Working Group and is a member of ITAC.

Matt Broda


Matt Broda is a Technical Fellow in Security at Bell Canada. As the security CTO focused on Bell’s enterprise customers, Matt is responsible for Bell’s strategic security technology direction helping Canadian businesses to securely navigate digital transformation. Matt has devoted the last 20 years of his career to make cyberspace a safer place. In his work with international government and private sector organizations, Matt has helped to advance the state of security and privacy in key areas, including cloud and mobile computing, VoIP and multimedia communication, and critical information infrastructure protection. Before joining Bell Canada, Matt held leadership positions focused on security with Nortel’s Chief Technology Office, Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing and as an entrepreneur and advisor. Matt holds an MBA from Ottawa University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Psychology from University of Toronto.

Steven Woodward


Steve is a Director with the Cloud Security Alliance Canadian Chapter and CEO Cloud Perspectives, specializing in advanced and accelerated cloud computing roadmaps that leverage various hosting and service options for secured and governed innovation. Steven’s core message is that secured and trusted connectivity are core to successful cloud and innovative deployments. Steven is helping define international standards and best practices for cloud federation, blockchain, edge, IoT, GDPR, AI ethics and geo-jurisdictions. Steven is a Canadian expert with ISO/ IEC SC7 (Systems) & SC38 (Cloud), is NIST Co-lead Cloud Carrier and Cloud Auditor sub-groups, and cloud federation contributor with NIST and IEEE. Other groups Steven contributes to includes: TM Forum, ITU-T, Standards Council of Canada, Quest Forum, IFPUG, itSMF, OMG, IIBA, ISACA and OpenStack. Standards are now enabling interoperability, transparent and governed innovation, impacting businesses and citizen services. Steven provides consulting and training internationally, advising governments and enterprises regarding complex project outsourcing, contracting, cloud computing roadmaps, culture change, estimation/ planning, security, costing and governance, resulting in saving customers several hundreds of millions of dollars.

Kevin Bennett


Kevin Bennett, CISSP, CCSP, is a Cyber Security Consultant with 20 years experience in the IT industry. Kevin has an extensive background in software development, risk analysis, mitigation and secure programming. Working primarily with the Government of Canada and large Canadian corporations, Kevin has applied his security knowledge and acumen to protect the citizens of Canada and their interests. A director with CSA Canada and President of InfoSecuritas, Kevin has come to focus on Cloud initiatives as one of biggest shifts in computing in recent history with a unique set of security requirements and needs.

Eli Erlikhman


Eli Erlikhman is a managing principal at Synopsys. He has a proven record of building application security programs, trusted advisor relationships, and strong delivery teams. As a managing principal and a certified Building Security In Maturity Model (BSIMM) expert, Eli advises clients on how to build software security programs, measure improvements and security posture, empower development teams, and solve strategic challenges. Eli specializes in the areas of threat modelling, security architecture, security programs, blockchain, and penetration testing.

Misha Nossik


Misha Nossik, CISSP, is a serial entrepreneur and high-tech executive specializing in the security innovation in hybrid cloud, networking and IoT. Misha is a passionate leader with a successful track record of starting new technology businesses, growing and transforming commercial and non-profit organizations and launching new products. He is currently incubating new ideas on the intersection of Machine Learning, Network Function Virtualization and Software-Defined Radio.
